Primary Liver Cancer

The most common primary liver cancer is hepatocellular cancer (hepatoma or HCC), which is usually associated with some form of chronic liver disease or cirrhosis. The early diagnosis depends on appropriate screening of high risk patients.

The Virginia Piper Cancer Institute Liver Cancer Team is dedicated to the management and diagnosis of HCC, and to the care of any associated liver disease.
