Driving and Vehicle Modifications

After experiencing a spinal cord injury, stroke or brain injury, you will need to be approved by your physician to resume driving. Your doctor may recommend that you go through driver’s evaluation and training before getting behind the wheel. Factors that may affect your ability to drive include change in vision, neglect, coordination, seizures, judgment, paralysis and spasticity.

If driver’s evaluation is indicated, you will need to register for driver’s education.
