What insurance plans do you accept?
Almost all insurance plans cover the costs associated with treatment at Phillips
Eye Institute. Before any procedure, our staff members verify insurance coverage
and inform patients of their coverage and/or financial responsibilities.
How can I make an appointment with a Phillips Eye Institute doctor?
Just call Allina Physician Referral at 612-262-3333 or 1-800-877-7878 (if you're outside the
Minneapolis/St Paul area) and ask to be referred to a doctor at Phillips Eye Institute.
My eye doctor said that nothing can be done to improve my vision. Can you help?
Our Low Vision Center
can help most people who are not totally blind. There are many diseases and disorders
that cause irreversible vision loss but not total blindness. Our low vision services
can help these people use their remaining vision. Specially trained occupational
therapists teach people how to use the latest equipment and computer technology
to enhance their vision. Call 612-775-8866 for more information.
Do you handle emergencies?
Although we do not have an emergency room, we handle hundreds of emergency situations
every year.
For example, you may be seen by an ophthalmologist when you first go to
a hospital emergency room for an eye or vision problem. The ophthalmologist
makes arrangements for patients to be treated at the Institute.
Other patients come here directly after calling their ophthalmologist about
a problem, then their eye doctor meets them at the Institute.
Is refractive surgery or LASIK surgery available at the Institute? How much
does it cost?
Yes, physicians affiliated with us have done thousands of refractive procedures
here.
While there may be slight variations, the cost is usually $2,000 per eye. Some
physicians offer special financing options.
