In 2007, New Ulm Medical Center partnered with community members to strengthen the vitality of healthcare in the region. NUMC and raised $760,000 to renovate and expand our Surgery Center.
Allina Hospitals and Clinics has also made this project a priority and committted $2.75 million of the $3.5 million needed for the project.
What's new with the Surgery Center:
- Two 575 square foot operating rooms (ORs) to meet today’s standards and one renovated OR
- Renovated post anesthesia recovery area
- Private pre-operative and recovery rooms for same day surgery patients
- Family waiting area that is welcoming and conveniently located
- Staff and physician support area
The current surgery facility has not had a major renovation in more than a quarter of a century. We perform more than 1,800 surgical procedures annually, offering cutting edge technology and a surgical team with exceptional expertise and skill.
The expansion and renovation of the surgery center takes the surgical experience to the next step for those in our care. It helps us achieve our vision of providing patient-centered, coordinated care to the community in a state-of-the-art environment that promotes healing and provides comfort for waiting families.
This redesign ensures that our patients receive the exceptional care they expect and deserve and that these services are sustainable well into the future.
