Hospital Foundation to Grant Barn Dance Proceeds
RIVER FALLS, Wisc. 01/15/2010--The River Falls Area Hospital Foundation has released a request for proposals from local programs that improve access to health care.
Grant requests from $500-$25,000 will be considered. To be eligible for funding, applicants must provide or plan to provide services that improve access to health services for residents of the communities served by the hospital; demonstrate compatibility with the mission, vision and values of Allina Hospitals & Clinic; and have the demonstrated capacity to carry out the program work funded by the grant and to maintain fiscal accountability. Applications are due on Monday, March 1, 2010.
In selecting the programs to be funded, priority will be given to projects that are collaborative, particularly those in which the River Falls Area Hospital is involved; are working to meet identified community needs; do not duplicate existing services; have multiple funding sources; serve the primary geographic service area of the hospital; and are evidence-based, using strategies proven to get results.

The available funds - more than $50,000 - represent the net proceeds of last year’s Harvest Moon Barn Dance, the Foundation’s annual fundraising event. “The mission of the foundation is to raise and disburse funds to enhance the health and wellness of the communities we serve,” said Heather Logelin, executive director of the foundation. “The Barn Dance helps us provide significant financial support to local programs that expand access to health care.”
