Jennifer Nelson named new president of Buffalo Hospital
BUFFALO, Minn. 04/23/2009-- Buffalo Hospital is pleased to welcome Jennifer Nelson as the hospital’s new president.
"Jennifer is a well respected health care leader with more than 20 years of experience managing complex hospital and multi-specialty, multi-site clinic operations," says Allina Hospitals & Clinics President and Chief Operating Officer Ken Paulus.
Prior to coming to Buffalo Hospital, Nelson was the senior vice president of specialty services at Park Nicollet Health Services.
"I grew up in a town about the size of Buffalo and know first-hand the importance of having a high quality hospital in town. Buffalo Hospital has earned a reputation for exceptional care with experienced, dedicated doctors, nurses and staff," says Nelson. "I look forward to experiencing how our community benefits by the improvements that we continue to make in our care and service."
Nelson’s priorities include finalizing plans for a new Birth Center, providing the highest quality care at the lowest possible costs in this challenging economy and strengthening the hospital’s relationships with referring physicians, civic organizations, community members, patients and families to advance our vision.
"The most urgent issue for me and our senior team is refining the final plans for the Birth Center and establishing the timeline for groundbreaking and construction. This is a very exciting and important project for the community and we look forward to seeing the dreams and ideas of the design team come to life."
Outside of work, Nelson and her husband Scott, are active with their three children and lots of school activities and sports.
