Buffalo Hospital earns CT accreditation
Buffalo, MN 07/02/2009--
Buffalo Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography (CT) as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
CT is a diagnostic procedure that uses special x-ray equipment to obtain cross-sectional pictures of the body. The CT computer displays these pictures as detailed images of organs, bones, and other tissues. ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards. Buffalo Hospital voluntarily went through a rigorous review process to be sure it meets nationally accepted quality standard. Accreditation means patients can feel confident that CT scans performed at Buffalo Hospital are done safely and effectively by qualified personnel and equipment. Buffalo Hospital is also ACR accredited in mammography.
