A Mammo Party Just for Women without Insurance

Buffalo, MN  10/06/2009--

Getting a mammogram has never been so relaxing and so much fun. If you are age 40 or older and do not have insurance, or are under-insured, and it’s been more than a year since your last mammogram, this is the party for you! Buffalo Hospital Foundation is throwing a party to help detect breast cancer early, Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Buffalo Hospital.

“The American Cancer Society recommends women age 40 and older get a mammogram every year, but lots of women avoid them,” says Rose Voigt, Buffalo Hospital Imaging manager. “Since a mammogram is so important for detecting breast cancer early, Buffalo Hospital Foundation decided to create a warm, relaxing and fun atmosphere to encourage women to get a mammogram.”

Buffalo Hospital and Buffalo Clinic are offering stress-free mammograms and much more, including seated massages, facial skin analysis and care, healthy snacks, and other pampering activities. Allina Medical Clinic and Buffalo Clinic doctors and staff also will offer short discussion about menopause and your health care needs as you age, nutrition and exercise.

Call 763-684-6800 today to reserve your spot; space is limited. Buffalo Hospital Foundation is teaming up with Sage to cover the costs of a mammogram for women without health insurance or who are underinsured. The Mammo Party is possible thanks to funds raised at Tough Enough to Wear Pink and Pink Street Party events.
