If you want to make an impact on your community or spend some time giving back to those who need help, consider volunteering at Mercy Hospital. By volunteering at Mercy Hospital, you will get to make a difference in people's lives. Volunteers from age 15 to 99 serve patients, staff and visitors at Mercy Hospital.

What is required of volunteers?

Gift Shop

Volunteers are required to:

  • Commit to one shift every other week (approximately 8 hours a month) or as service area requires. The minimum commitment is 50 hours, or about 6 months.
  • Complete a health screening and criminal background check which are provided free of charge. The health screening includes MMR and Chicken Pox immunity status and a TB Screening.
  • Attend orientation and service specific training.

How do I get started?

  • Complete an Online Application (18+ use the Adult Online Application Form, 15-18 years old use the VolunTEEN OnlineApplication Form), or call 763-236-8011 to request a paper copy, and sign up for an orientation time.
  • Attend orientation and complete the background check form and health screening. Make a placement appointment with the Volunteer Services department and attend area specific training after placement.
