RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and database manager that allows you to create your own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases. You can use these references in writing documents, including manuscripts for publication submission. The software will then allow you to automatically format the document and the bibliography in seconds using a citation style that you select from a list provided by RefWorks. These citation styles include many of the major medical journals, including JAMA and Circulation.
Access:
Access is available from the Allina Library Services web page (www.allina.com/library). The first time you access, you will be asked to create a personal account, including a unique login name and password. You will need to supply an e-mail address in this process. We recommend that you use an Allina e-mail address if you have one. Once you have created an account, you will be able to access from a remote location if you have Allina's group code. This code will be provided to you in the confirmation e-mail you receive once you have created your account. If you have questions, or need the group access code, please call the Library at 612-863-4312.
