MEDLINE is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. MEDLINE contains bibliographic citations and author abstracts from more than 4,600 biomedical journals published in the United States and 70 other countries. Coverage is worldwide, but most records are from English-language sources or have English abstracts. Abstracts are included for about 52% of the records. Ovid Technologies, Inc. provides an easy-to-use interface to search this and other databases, and also allows Allina Library Services to show a local message for those citations from journals it owns in print. Links to fulltext articles provided by Ovid or a publisher are also made available.
