Senior Citizen Grief and Loss Support Group
Many people feel the words “grief” and “loss” refer only to death. This is not true. There are many different types of losses, and seniors in this support group talk about a wide variety of issues including:

  • Loss of health due to illness or aging
  • Decisions regarding moving from a home to an apartment
  • Caregiving for sick or disabled family or friends
  • Death or impending death of a loved one
  • Relationships with adult children

When 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., second and fourth Wednesday of each month

Infant loss and infertility
The Grief Support Center of St. Mary’s/Duluth Clinic sponsors support groups for parents who have lost their baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth or sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The Center also offers support to couples dealing with grief related to the inability to bear children.
When: This group meets on an as-needed basis.

Parent grief
The Grief Support Center of St. Mary’s/Duluth Clinic offers education and support for parents who have lost children. Groups meet according to the child’s age at the time of loss: birth to 10 years, older than 10 years.
