Serving patients in the hospital's 30-bed intensive care unit, the program involves critically-ill patients with various medical, surgical and neurological conditions.
Objectives
Once through the rotation, the resident should be able to:
1. identify patient specific problems in the critically ill patient
2. use clinical therapeutic knowledge and apply to patient problems
3. monitor therapeutic drug regimens for efficacy and toxicity
4. be familiar with disease states common to the critically ill patient through recommendations and discussion sessions with preceptors

You will be expected to interact with each member as appropriate and gain experience and confidence as a member of the team. The patient care team is composed of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dieticians, speech therapists, social workers, chaplains and respiratory therapists.
