Midtown Community Works

The Midtown Community Works Partnership was formed in 1998 to create and implement a common vision for the Midtown Greenway/Lake Street area in south Minneapolis. As a neighbor, Abbott Northwestern has a vital interest and has contributed financial and institutional support to the Midtown Community Works Partnership.

Through the coordinated efforts of individuals and businesses, a revitalized Lake Street and completed Greenway trail will be integrated to create an active public space, recreational area and an investment opportunity.

This new corridor will create an influx of residents seeking an urban lifestyle and will provide employees for major employers relocating to or expanding within the corridor. Public transportation operating within and adjacent to the Greenway will connect with local and regional systems while the Greenway trail will link to the “Grand Rounds” parkway system spanning the City from the Chain of Lakes to the Mississippi River.
