Allina Hospitals & Clinics statement on mammography screening
The United States Preventive Services Task Force is one of several different groups that makes recommendations about when women should have screening mammograms.
The physicians and staff of the Piper Breast Center have reviewed the recent recommendations. Other groups that we respect, including the American Cancer Society, continue to support the current recommendations which are based on a number of research studies. For that reason, the breast programs of Allina Hospitals & Clinics will not be changing our practices for screening mammograms at this time.
As always, if you have any questions about the health of your breasts, please talk to your doctor.
