Halloween candy

You don't want to be a spoilsport this Halloween, but a little caution can't hurt.

  • When trick or treating with your children, make sure they do not eat any candy until you've checked it for tampering.
  • If your children are old enough to trick-or-treat without you, tell them to eat only commercially packaged treats while they're out that night. Better yet, encourage them to wait to eat until they get home.
  • When they get home, check their loot. Kids don't always have the best judgment. Throw away anything that looks like it may have been tampered with.
