Diabetes, depression & fitness

People with diabetes are more likely to suffer from depression. At least 30 minutes a day of exercise can help improve both conditions.

Regular exercise can help stabilize your mood and generally improve your state of mind and self-image.

These other exercise benefits can especially help people manage their diabetes:

  • Help control weight.
  • Improve how your body uses insulin.
  • Decrease the risk of heart disease.

To get the above benefits, your activity doesn't have to be vigorous. It just needs to be consistent. It's also a good idea to combine aerobic exercise with strength training.
