Child and teen psychiatry

Child and teen (pediatric) psychiatrists diagnose and treat behavioral problems, developmental issues and emotional illness. They can order tests, prescribe medicine and offer talk therapy.

These doctors may work with parents, doctors, psychologists and social workers to help children or teens with:

• attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
• anxiety, depression and other mental or emotional concerns
• addiction and substance abuse
