Caregiver support groups

The Gathering
Anoka County and Northwest Hennepin County, Minnesota
This daytime, out-of-home respite program is for caregivers and their care receivers, age 55 and older, who live in Anoka and Northwest Hennepin counties.

While their caregivers enjoy time away from caregiving, persons with long-term care needs can enjoy fellowship, lunch and activities at locations in these communities:

Coon Rapids

St. Anthony

Caregivers Support Group
Twin Cities area, Minnesota
Trained staff facilitates this group to provide support, direction and information regarding caregiving. The course addresses topics such as stress management, the stages of and dealing with patient memory loss, lifestyle changes, avoiding isolation, where to look for help, how to help each other, and dealing with physical disabilities.
