Second trimester: How you may feel sexually

The physical changes of this trimester -- increased blood flow and the swelling of breasts, labia and vagina -- may actually enhance your sexual responsiveness and satisfaction. You may feel more energy, less fatigue, and have a general sense of well-being. You may experience strong sexual urges and feel very sexual.

Your partner may feel the same or may have another set of feelings. The profound change in your figure and your obvious maternal role create conflicting feelings in some men.

It can be challenging to find ways to share your feelings with each other without feeling criticized, but keeping your lines of communication open now is very important to your relationship and to your new family.
