Gestational diabetes: Your next pregnancy and gestational diabetesAbout two-thirds of women who have had gestational diabetes in one pregnancy will redevelop it in a future pregnancy. As you plan for another pregnancy, have your blood glucose checked to make sure it's normal at the time you conceive. When you're pregnant again, tell your health care provider of your past gestational diabetes at your first prenatal visit. Expect to have a glucose screening at this visit.
