Heart failure medicine interactions The following list shows possible interactions of medicines that are commonly taken together to treat heart failure .
This list does not include every possible interaction, so please tell your health care provider about all the medicines you are taking (prescription, over-the-counter, herbals and vitamins).
You may need other treatments besides medicine to help your heart work better or to prevent serious problems.

increased digoxin effect
increased INR/PT, increased chance for bleeding
Digoxin (Lanoxin®)
antacids that have aluminum
amiodarone (Cordarone®)
diuretic (such as furosemide, hydochlorothiazide)
quinidine
decreased digoxin effect
increased digoxin effect
decreased levels of potassium in your body, which may increase digoxin effect
ACE inhibitors (Captopril®, Enalapril®, Lisinopril®, Quinipril®)
aspirin
ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®)
ketoprofen (Orudis KT®)
naproxen (Aleve®, Naprosyn®)
all have decreased ACE inhibitor effect
Warfarin (Coumadin®)
alcohol
amiodarone (Cordarone®)
aspirin
cimetidine
hydrochlorothiazide
ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®)
ketoprofen (Orudis KT®)
naproxen (Aleve®, Naprosyn®)
quinidine
vitamin K (green, leafy vegetables)
