Cranberry coolers and fruit smoothies

Enjoy these beverages on a warm spring or hot summer day.

Cranberry coolers

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (1 quart) cranberry juice
  • 1 1/2 cups club soda

Directions

  1. Combine cranberry juice and club soda.
  2. Pour over ice.
  3. Chill.

One serving (8 ounces)

  • carbohydrates 33 grams
  • fat 0 grams

Fruit smoothies

Makes two servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium to large banana
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup fat-free plain yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries or raspberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar substitute

Directions

  1. Peel and cut banana into large chunks.
  2. Place in resealable bag. Seal and freeze for at least 5 to 6 hours.
  3. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
  4. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
