Diabetes Education Program
After experiencing it herself, Sue Wolff recommends Allina Medical Clinic's Diabetes Education Program. Also endorsed by the American Diabetes Association®, the program can help you better understand and manage your diabetes.
These services are part of the care people with diabetes receive at Allina Medical Clinic.
- During a one-hour appointment at your clinic with a diabetes educator, you'll discuss your personal diabetes education and management needs.
- The diabetes educator will recommend small group or individual sessions based on your needs, treatment plan and type of diabetes. The sessions will be spread over time to give you a chance to practice new skills. If you'd like, you can invite a spouse, partner, family member or friend to come with you.
- Follow-up clinic visits will help you prevent diabetes complications. At least once a year, you should review your self-management plan with your diabetes educator and update it as needed. Every three months, you should see your doctor or health care provider to monitor treatment needs and answer questions.
