Diet rich in magnesium good for health
A diet rich in magnesium may help reduce the incidence of metabolic syndrome, the cluster of conditions that can lead to diabetes and coronary heart disease. A study of more than 4,600 Americans, begun in 1985, found the risk of developing metabolic syndrome over the next 15 years was 31 percent lower for those with the highest intake of magnesium. Macedoine of fruit

Savor this sweet and healthy combination in three quick and easy steps. Serves 6.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 bananas, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 orange, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon orange liqueur (You can also use orange extract or juice.)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large glass bowl. Toss to mix well.
  2. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  3. Serve chilled.
