Childbirth And Parenting Prep
This course for first-time parents covers details on labor, birth, comfort measures, medical procedures, cesarean birth, role of labor companion, adjustment to parenting, newborn characteristics, medications and a tour of the Birth Center.
It is recommended you complete your classes no later than one month prior to your due date. Please enroll in the classes of your choice soon, as they fill quickly. Evening and weekend courses are available.
Please note if you are attending the Friday/Saturday two-day series at:
- Mercy or Unity hospital, the first session is on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The second session is on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- St. Francis Regional Medical Center, the first session is on Friday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The second session is on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Medical Assistance Health Plans cover the cost of some of these classes. All other types of insurance holders must check with your insurance company regarding reimbursement by your respective health plan after full payment and attendance of class.
Package price discounts
Package price discounts are available by enrolling in a Childbirth and Parenting Preparation or an Expecting Multiples course, plus two or three these classes: Healthy Pregnancy, A Healthy Pregnancy, All About Babies and Breastfeeding Preparation. By enrolling in a total of three classes you will save $15. By enrolling in four classes you will save $50.
